We run our lessons on a seasonal schedule. Each session of lessons typically run from 9-12 weeks, depending on the season.
Group lessons are scheduled on a regular weekly day and time, Tuesday through Sunday, between 8am and 6pm.
What type of lessons do you offer and what do they cost?
Style: English balanced seat, Dressage, Jumping and Eventing.
Ages: 6-25 years old
At Butler Equestrian, our lessons focus on not only building our student’s riding abilities but also teaching them important horse management skills.
During a lesson, students will groom and tack their own horses, with their instructor's assistance (20-30 minutes depending on ability level). Once the 40min-1hr riding portion of the lesson is complete students will again groom their horses and also clean their tack (15-20 minutes). (Riders should expect to spend 1.5 to 2 hours at the barn to complete their lesson responsibilities.)
1.5 Hour Group Lesson: (5 people) 1x a week or 2x a week for $70 a lesson. All group lessons are sold as a session (9-12 weeks) and not individually.
1.5 Hour Private: $95 a lesson
1.5 Hour Semi-Private: (2-3 people) $85 a lesson
How do I know what level rider I am?
We ar a Pony Club riding center and although you do not need to be a Pony Club member we follow the standards set by the USPC for our instruction.
New to our program? You will need to schedule an Evaluation.
Our program is unique because we give our students time to groom, tack and care for their horse. An evaluation allows us to get to know you and your child and assess where you best fit into our program.
Students are expected to become able to take on that responsibility in a self-directed manner.
The cost of an Evaluation is $60 and will last for 1 hour.
What if I can't come to my lesson, or I am running late?
We understand that there will be times that things don't work out as planned.
We hope that you understand that in order for us to create a safe and healthy atmosphere for others in the program, we can only be so flexible.
When you sign up for a lesson session you are making a commitment to a weekly day and time, just as we are committed to you.
There are provisions for the occasional missed lesson with advance notice. However if you are running late by more than 15 minutes you will not be able to participate in the lesson.
Agreement to this policy is a term of your registration so please be sure you read it carefully and understand the parameters that keep our program running smoothly for everyone.
For our more advanced students and who have been riding with us for a year, we offer our Lease Program. We offer full and half leases. In a Full Lease ($65 a ride) students receive 2 group lessons and 1 lease ride. In a Half Lease ($65 a ride) our students receive 1 group lesson and 1 lease ride.
